Alice in Wonderland Online

In Disney’s first Alice in Wonderland, released in 1951 as an animated feature film, there seemed to be an abundance of light. Disney’s next Alice in Wonderland, to be released in March, 2010, is intended as a sequel to the first. Directed by Tim Burton, Alice in Wonderland online movie reviews would be remiss not to point out the absence of light and how it relates to the story.

Written by screenwriter Linda Woolverton, who also gave us Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, the present version of Alice is now 19 years old and has just been proposed marriage to. It’s then that she catches sight of the White Rabbit, and true to form, goes after him, apparently having no memory of having known him before. Alice in Wonderland online movie reviews should point out that portraying Alice is Mia Wasikowska, seen also as Sophie in HBO’s In Treatment and soon to become very big in the recently touted, The Kids Are Alright, at 2010 Sundance Film Festival.

Alice unwittingly returns to a Wonderland that’s dismal, indeed, and under the wicked rule of the Queen of Hearts. Though it appears that most of the characters from the story reappear here, two that are notably missing are the Mock Turtle and the Gryphon, which may in turn mean.....as much as I hate to say it.....no Lobster Quadrille (though it is a song on the film’s secondary soundtrack of music inspired by the film. Alice in Wonderland online movie reviews may be able to track them down in the film, but I couldn’t.

What seems to be in all the trailers is the classic Alice in Wonderland Mad Tea Party scene, featuring Johnny Depp as the Mat Hatter. Alice in Wonderland online movie reviews should have quite a field day evaluating the talented actor in this new role, though there’s something in the bizarre of it that smacks of Sweeney Todd.

And speaking of Sweeney Todd, watch for Alice in Wonderland online movie reviews to give big nods to Helena Bonham Carter in the role of the Queen of Hearts. Even as creepy as it is to watch the lady with the very large head, Bonham Carter by far is the most fun to watch in this movie.
